John G and Minnie Gluek House

Owners Gary and Evelyn Hill have beautifully restored the historic Gluek brewing family home. The interior is impeccably designed with a eccentric flair. I am honored to have a piece so prominently displayed.

I love getting pictures of pieces in their new settings, and this did not disappoint! Laure found the absolute perfect spot in the sitting room of her exquisitely put together home. She is a master at combining a homey feel with sophistication and a touch of whimsey.

When I opened the kiln, I fell in love with this piece, but  I was unsure if she would ever find a home. The size and aesthetic would dominate or seem out of place in most environments yet, thanks to Evelyn Hill, "Hydrangea on Blue" perfectly integrates into the interior of The Gluek House.

This coil-work is hand-built onto a wheel-thrown piece. Each clay body acts differently during this process. Porcelain is especially precarious. Laurie knows my personal journey has taken years getting to the point where I hardly lose a piece from the beginning stage through two kiln firings. Her support and understanding of my process creates a special relationship between 

artist and patron.
